Originally set to raise $60 million, the campaign shattered expectations, raising a record-breaking $79.6 million and finishing an entire year ahead of schedule. In 2024 alone, more than $20 million was raised, marking the second highest fundraising year in Eskenazi Health Foundation’s history.

That’s the difference in life expectancy between zip code 46201 and 46250 … and that gap is widening. In an effort to narrow this gap and drastically improve life expectancy in Indianapolis, the Beyond Barriers campaign has already begun breaking down barriers to health care and igniting a movement of positive change in our community for generations to come.

The first area where philanthropy dollars went to work was infrastructure. By building a closed loop model where patients were screened for social drivers of health and then connecting them with resources has already produced remarkable results.
