In honor of a $5 million gift from Sandra Eskenazi for mental health services, Midtown Community Mental Health has been renamed the Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center at Eskenazi Health. As Indiana’s first community mental health center, Eskenazi Health is dedicated to providing mental health care to all of Central Indiana. This gift will provide resources for Eskenazi Health to provide innovative ways to treat patients’ mental health, particularly those who struggle with depression and anxiety.
This gift, in combination with Sandy’s gift to the Sandra Eskenazi Center for Brain Care Innovation, makes her total contribution to mental health care at Eskenazi Health $10 million. This is the largest gift to support mental health care in the state of Indiana and one of the largest in the country.
Even before establishing Indiana’s first community mental health system 50 years ago, Eskenazi Health has welcomed mental health patients of all ages, from children to seniors, with a philosophy of care that stresses family- and community-centered treatment. Sandy has championed mental health care alongside us for years now, and her continued devotion and dedication to our mission and vision for the future are truly inspiring.
Eskenazi Health has always been an advocate for raising awareness and reducing the stigma associated with mental health care. And our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure our community is receiving the very best care and our patients feel their needs are being met.
Eskenazi Health and Eskenazi Health Foundation are grateful to Sandy for her continuous generosity and support.
